From November 24 to 28, BCFC hosted  “Workplace Learning Experiential Trip for Singapore: Insights for Business Transformation and Workforce Development,” a program jointly organized with Republic Polytechnic. Centered on two themes — enterprise digital transformation and the development of in-service human resources — the program brought together 33 business managers and technical professionals from Singapore’s finance, technology, logistics and education sectors for a week of learning in Beijing through expert lectures, interactive workshops and company visits.

The program organized by the School of International Education, arranged visits for the trainees to Beijing Wuyutai Tea Co., Ltd., a time-honored Chinese tea enterprise; Beijing Topnew Group Co., Ltd., a representative state-owned textile company; JD.com, an e-commerce giant; Xiaomi Group, a major player in intelligent manufacturing; and Volcano Engine Technology Co., Ltd., a leading player in China’s digital industry. The visits offered the delegation a comprehensive view of how Chinese enterprises integrate digital technologies into their business models, an understanding of China’s workforce development ecosystem, and insight into successful  collaboration between educational institutions and enterprises.

The College also invited three experts to deliver keynote lectures: Professor Zhou Yong, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, on “The Proactive Government Facilitation and Efficient Market Driving for the Digital Transformation of Chinese Enterprises”; Professor Li Qi, Beijing Vocational College of Labor and Social Security, on “HR Policies and Practices in the Context of Digital Economy”; and Professor Yang Yi, President of Beijing College of Finance and Commerce, on “Developing High-Skilled Talent in the Digital Age.” The lectures introduced China’s policies and practices in the digital industry and industrial digitalization, along with its workforce development and vocational education and training policies, helping participants build a comprehensive understanding of how government and market, as well as enterprises and schools, collaborate to drive industrial upgrading and talent development in the digital era.

At the closing ceremony, Yang Yi, President of BCFC, and Siew Ping YAP, Assistant Director of the National Centre of Excellence for Workplace Learning at Republic Polytechnic, Singapore, presented completion certificates to all participants.

Participants from Singapore noted that the in-depth company visits and exchanges with Chinese enterprise peers were an invaluable experience, one that not only enriched their understanding of Chinese enterprises and universities, but also expanded their business networks in China.

The program delivered a high-quality training experience that integrates industry and education, demonstrating the College's commitment to serving Beijing's development as an international exchange hub.
